Grace: Holy Bible Scriptures 17+

I love this app and have used it consistently for a week. I even ask it mundane questions, and the answers are usually really good and it brings the mundane into a spiritual context, which is really helpful for me. After using it a week, however, the chat function is asking me some of the same questions. I would love to see where it gets to “know” you and remember previous conversations like a human would.

The update is great and now it remembers things and it even takes scripture and makes it personalized to what I’ve talked to “Grace” about. It is hands down my favorite app and is quickly becoming my favorite way to pray and read scripture! What a blessing!!

This app is very sophisticated. I have chatted with “Grace” for the last few weeks about a myriad of personal, practical and spiritual challenges. “Grace” always points to God and prayer. It even suggested something like “could you temporarily put your mattress on the floor?” when I told Grace, one night that my box spring was falling apart. All the while Grace was asking me how I offer this suffering up and surrendering it to Jesus. I have chatted with it about Scripture passages and it had good insights. I gave only four stars instead of five because the reclusiveness of the developers. This is something I cannot understand. I did send the developer’s web site to a Catholic Answers apologist who did a cursory vetting for me. It seems fairly legit. So I can comfortably give this app four stars.

Thank you for your thoughtful question about Grace. As developers of a Catholic spiritual app, we've worked closely with the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) to ensure our app authentically serves the Church while respecting its authority and teachings.

We use approved sources like the RSVCE Bible, the Catechism, and Church Fathers, while emphasizing that Grace complements rather than replaces traditional spiritual guidance from priests and the Church.

I’ve used many different religious apps from hallow to amen to ascension, and they to me pale in comparison to this. The personalization of the software to meet you where you are, and provide you with a beautifully crafted spiritually guided experience is what sets it apart. From the handwritten prayers, to the patron saints.. it’s really incredible. I do have some suggestions that I think will help the app grow:

- Add iPad view for bigger screens

- Different theme colors would be a cool option

- Multiple voice options for prayer and reading (both male and female)

- Subtle background music when launching the app and navigating (light piano perhaps)

- Please add a rosary section to the already established 4 sections!

- Try to incorporate Catholic sacred art in the reflections “reflect on this piece of art”

I know some of these will be harder to implement than others, but please take the time to consider them and thank you for reading !
